Cup Final Match Report

Stowmarket had most of the early possession but were twice exposed at turnover time as Colchester scored two runaway tries. Colchester took charge of the game but were held by Stowmarket's resolute tackling. Just before half time Stowmarket got back into the game scoring tries by Tate Harper and Arthur Devlin-Grist one of which was converted by Cole Wade. Half time 12-14. Into the second half and once again Colchester took charge scoring a third converted try and they seemed to have sealed the result by kicking a penalty with only 10 minutes remaining. Stowmarket rallied and with 6 minutes left Tom Norfolk scored a try converted by Cole Wade. In the last play of the game Stowmarket kept the ball alive and to the delight of the home crowd and his team mates Ollie Rudling charged over to secure an equalizing try. With a cool head Cole Wade kicked the conversion to take Stowmarket through to the 4 team knock out Cup as winners of the Suffolk Plate.
