Stowmarket had a comfortable win at home against Romford & Gidea Park. Both sides started nervously and it was 30 minutes before the first score when Brad Durrant (winger) sliced through the Romford midfield from a set move. Stowmarket began to get on top and a second try was scored on half time when Matt Edison picked up a loose ball and ran in from half way. Half time 12-0.
Stowmarket started the second half on the front foot. Ben Honeyball drove through several tacklers to score under the post and Nic Kegge touched down following a line out drive. As Romford began to tire Ben Honeyball with another barn storming run, Elliot Fearn and Matt Edison following good handling scored tries. Romford continued to battle and were deserved rewarded with a try before Stowmarket finished with a flourish and a second try for Brad Durrant. Casha Nijhawan converted seven of the eight tries.
Final score Stowmarket 54 Romford 7.
