TOM WRIGHT’S RISE CAN’T BE STOPPED

TOM WRIGHT’S RISE CAN’T BE STOPPED

Dan Garrard2 Jul - 16:41

Our Boy is Down Under Creating Bigger Waves Than Ever Seen at Cow Bombie!

It’s been a monumental few months for one of our own, and the waves keep getting bigger.

Back in Toowoomba since 13th February, he linked up with the Toowoomba Rangers after being asked to join by Stowmarket's 2023/24 overseas player and friend Jared Fearby. Since then, he’s been on a tear. After two pre-season hit-outs—one in Toowoomba, another on the Gold Coast—he burst into the regular season on 3rd May, and hasn’t looked back.

In just 7 matches, he’s racked up an incredible 20 tries, helping the Rangers notch 6 wins and setting his sights on the club record of 32 tries in a single season.

His performances earned him a spot in the Darling Downs rep team, representing the wider region in clashes against Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. That form then saw him selected for South Queensland, and this past weekend, he took things up another level.

Travelling to Townsville, he played against North and Central Queensland — and won both games, crowning South Queensland as state champions.

“Winning both games and being Queensland champions is pretty f***ing awesome,” he said. “Now I’m hoping to get picked for Country.”

And why not? With his current form and momentum, a call-up to the QLD Country side could be just around the corner—potentially placing him in view of higher-level selectors like the Queensland Reds.

Off the pitch, he’s been just as focused, currently 8 weeks into a PT course, which he’s loving. He’ll be fully qualified by the end of next month, ready to start a new chapter professionally while his rugby story continues to rise.

From club dominance to state honours and a potential Country jersey, this is one journey you’ll want to keep watching.

Go well, legend. You're making serious waves. ?
