Following a pitch inspection carried out this morning, Ely have made the decision to cancel today’s 1st XV fixture due to unplayable conditions.

Recent heavy rain and sleet, combined with overnight frost, have left the pitches at Pocock + Shaw Park unsafe for play, and the decision was taken in the best interests of player safety.
While the cancellation is disappointing, there is still live rugby to enjoy this afternoon at Phoenix Park.

Our 2nd XV fixture is going ahead as planned, and the team will be hosting Felixstowe with a 2:00pm kick-off. The lads would greatly appreciate the support of the Stowmarket faithful as they look to put in a strong performance at home.

We encourage all supporters who were planning to travel to Ely, or anyone simply looking for some rugby this afternoon, to come down to Phoenix Park, wrap up warm, and help create a great matchday atmosphere.
