The first steps on getting all of our ages back to rugby!!

Thank you all for your patience. I know some of you are eager to put on your rugby boots, just a few final preparations before we can see everyone again.

This announcement covers the return to Sunday training only. As of yet the official start of the season is unknown and there are currently no plans for fixtures. This is under constant review by the Ccommittee following RFU guidance.

Please see details for the first Sunday training sessions back. Use the pitch plan map attached to identify your training zone. Your entry/exit gate will be near your training zone.

Note: these session are not registration days and there is no request yet for player subscriptions.

If you are planning to attend please make contact with your age group coach to let them know your interest via your normal contact means (email, Facebook group, teamer). If you are new, and want to join, please reply to this email and we can forward you onto your age group coach.

From Sunday 4th October we plan to have all minis and midis (U6-U12s) attending sessions as per the details above.

Attached is the detailed protocol for attending a training session, I have summarised key points below.

Before attending any training session you should check that the player does not have any potential indicators of COVID-19.

On arrival to your first session a coach will meet the player at their assigned gate to sign them in and confirm parent/guardian contact details are up to date. These contact details are for ‘track and trace’ purposes. Without providing these details the player will not be able to train.

Upon entry to the training area all players and coaches must sanitise their hands using the dispenser provided.

Our coaches will then lead the training session in accordance with the RFU guidance for the specific stage on the Return to Rugby Roadmap. As of the 06/09/2020 we are at stage D. There will be regular equipment and hand sanitising in the training area. More details found here: https://www.englandrugby.com/news/article/limited-contact-training-approved-for-community-clubs

After attending a training session, should there be potential indicators of COVID-19 infection you should check the latest government advice via https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19 or by calling the NHS online on 111. You may provide my details 07715 869299 as Club COVID Officer to ‘track and trace’ investigators.

Some additional items:

A note on first aid - during this time only emergency first aid will be administered by our coaches, any non-emergency first aid must be administered by a parent/guardian on instruction by our coaches (if an injury occurs the parent/guardian will be invited into the training area).

The Clubhouse bar and toilets will be open - player toilets and hand wash facilities to be accessed via the back of the Clubhouse. Note: there will be no changing facilities open.

Hopefully this covers most of the information you need, but if there are any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact myself or Sue.

Kind Regards,
Amy Morris
