A statement from our Chairman regarding the article MSDC posted today.

The article below talks about a possible new sporting complex for Stowmarket. This would include further development of the current Chilton Fields area. We wanted to make sure that all members are aware of the council’s ideas.

Please be assured that the council are actively involving the club in discussions about their plans and we will be a key stakeholder that they will need to consult. It is very early days for these discussions and as you will see from the article at this stage they are looking to
consult widely on their ideas with a number of sports clubs and the wider public. Nothing is therefore finalised at the moment.
As the proposals for the new development become clearer (and in particular how they impact on us as a club) we will be actively engaging members of the club in discussions. As soon as we have something concrete to discuss we will convene a special open committee meeting for members to come and discuss while the Council have also volunteered to present to Club members once they are in a position to do so.
Thanks
John
Stowmarket RUFC Chairman
